New to the SAHM Thing

So for those of you that don’t know, SAHM means, a stay at home mom. Which I am new to. I have been working any kind of job or jobs that I would find since I was eleven. From the Tobacco fields to trucking customer service. I now Stay home with my Little girl due to this Pregnancy, Surprisre, we are having another little girl!

I was not expecting to get pregnant or even try to get pregnant till after EJ turned one years old but looks like God had other plans for us. We still don’t have a name for this new little nugget of joy. I am working on getting my company, Luxe by Lacy up and running. I still have to build the website and get business cards printed and pretty much everything that goes along with that. On top of being a SAHM. It is so much harder than I could have imagined. Thankfully I have had help.

Due to medical issues, that were never figured out, I am having to give over the chore of getting up to give EJ her bottles during the middle of the night because I kept passing out all the time. Finally my hubby thought of something that the doctors never even though to consider, that I might be overly exhausted from having to grow a child, take care of a child, night and day, due to the fact that my hubby leaves the house at 4:30 every morning to go to work. So thankfully we live with his parents still and PawPaw is able to take her at night so I can sleep.

Now, I wake up in the morning and get the full report on how she has slept and how much formula that she has consumed throughout the night. It is supper nice to have this help because before I was feeling like I was never sleeping. Like I was doing a 24 hour shift at work and then getting a few hours of sleep to do it all over again. I did that for about two months before I ended up in the hospital for the second time. This time they didn’t let me go home till two days later and I had every test possible run on me. I have a huge support system at home. Nana and PawPaw kept EJ and even Auntie Jen came to help out, while Jonathan was with me at the hospital.

With all of that, I am still so new to learning how to balance home life and growing my business. I don’t know how these moms do it. My sister and Sister in law are both SAHM’s with their own companies that they run. They both have 3 kids. I only have the one and lots of help and I struggle so much. As I am writing this, EJ is currently trying to climb up on the keyboard to bang on it. She loves music and thinks that it is the piano.

How do you as a Stay at home mom Balance the home life with your kid/s?

  1. You explained it. They have 3 kids. You’re still a new mom with a FULL plate. My eldest is 14 and I’m still finding my groove because it’s ever changing. Good phases and tough phases. Oi. I wish us both luck. Lol.
