I just love it when people compare people. Like someone who beats a world record.

I had a friend post an article about an Olympian beating another’s record. He was like super proud for her but just a reminder that she beat his metal record and not that she is faster than him. Who cares!? Why do you have to diminish her successes because it’s not what you think or what you like? She beat his records, does it matter that she is a woman? Does she have to be faster than him? It’s the same if a woman beats another woman’s records. Someone always has a “but” at the end.

But, she had a head start in life.

But, she was raised differently.

But, she had more money.

But, she had two parents.

But, someone paid for her college.

But, she didn’t struggle like someone else did.

Who cares! We all have our own timelines. We aren’t all able to make loads and loads of money. We didn’t all grow up poor. We didn’t all grow up rich. We didn’t all grow up with two parents!

If someone says to you, I love you, but…… would you be happy with that? No! You would leave them or deal with whatever the situation it. You can’t have someone say I love you, but I don’t want to be with you, and still continue ghat relationship. It would only end in hurt and anger. You can’t be happy for someone, but also be jealous. You are one or the other.

Why do we feel the need to diminish others and their work!? I just don’t understand why we have the need to be better than someone else or to point out that someone isn’t as good as another person. What gives you the right to judge another!? What gives you the right to point out someone else’s flaws? What gives you the right to tell someone they aren’t as smart or pretty as someone else? You don’t have that right! You just think that you do.

I’ve had people tell me, “Well I have freedom of speech!” Good for you, so do I but I’m not going to be an asshole and tell someone that they are ugly, you don’t know that they are trying their best, putting on makeup and doing their hair everyday just to please society. You don’t know if that person went to bed for only 3 hours because they are working two jobs just to pay the bills and their day job requires that all females have hair and makeup done. You as a person do not get to determine if someone else is worthy!

You can’t say that, I love your child, but she isn’t a (insert last name) therefore I won’t treat them like the ones that do carry that last name! (That was personally told to me). Personally I don’t think that is right.

I love it, but….. you can continue to put others down but I won’t! I won’t stand for others to be told they aren’t worth it.
