To the working mom I apologize on behalf of all the people who have judged you for you leaving your child in the care of someone else in order for you to provide for said child(ren).
I apologize for all the arrogant people who think it’s easy for you to not spend any or little quality time with you baby(ies) as if you want nothing to do with the child or children you have given birth to. All the hours you’ve spend wishing that you could be home to cuddle and tell them you love them more than the moon and stars.
I apologize for all the rude comments people have ignorantly said to or about you that at least you get a day off from your kids ( not a jab at stay at home parents). I would love to work from home and be able to spend time with my child cause she misses me. I unfortunately don’t get that special time with my beautiful baby girl because our society thinks it’s ok to not pay people what a living wage is and then expects them to pay more than they make. I’m sorry that I can’t spend time with her because I’m trying to make a home for her so I can spend time with her later. You shouldn’t have to apologize for being a parent that lives their child and has to work at the same time.
We as working parents shouldn’t have to apologize but here I am apologizing to you, the working parent for having to say I’m sorry all the time and apologizing when we shouldn’t have too.
I’m sorry you don’t get to spend the time you would like to spend with your children and family.
I’m sorry you get judged for working when you can’t afford to not work.
I’m sorry for all the stupid and arrogant things people do and say to or about you.
I’m sorry that people think it’s ok to tell you how to parent your child
I’m sorry for being sorry.
I’m sorry for the sleepless nights you have and yet still have to go to work.
I’m sorry for the days that you have to call out of work due to a child that is sick and then you have to worry about how you’re going to feed said child through the week. Forget the month. Day today is hard enough.
You are loved, you are enough, you can do this! You’ve got everything! Take a deep breath and keep pushing through.
Well said
